This winter, I’m teaching a bible study at my church. I’m teaching five times January through March through the book of Ephesians. The first session of our study we walked through the first chapter and the beginning of chapter two. We spent the first part of our time walking through the identity declarations that Paul describes in chapter one. I’m sure you could come up with your own list but this is the list I came up with. We could have spent our whole time working through these declarations. We didn’t have time in our study, but I wanted to share my thoughts on each of these declarations. I’d challenge you to grab a bible, read down through Ephesians 1:3-14 and meditate on these truths.

Identity Coaching
Identity coaching is part of what I do. I have worked with clients looking to clearly discover and define who they are in Christ. There is freedom and confidence that comes with knowing who you are in Christ and I want to guide you there. Hear what a past client are said about this:
“Coaching has helped me with being able to live in the present more and to focus on what God has placed in my life right now.”

Hospitality
I posted a reel about hospitality this week on Instagram. I wanted to share a few tips I’ve picked up along the way to make hospitality a little bit easier.
- Use flowers to decorate! Flowers make a simple and striking centerpiece and you can even send them home with guests if you’d like. Or enjoy them yourself.
- Make meals easier by buying prepared food, baking mixes, or kits. It doesn’t all have to be handmade by your hands.
- Accept offers to bring something from guests, giving them something specific or a category of what to bring.
- Let your kids get involved! Let them set the table, bake cookies, or great guests at the door.

“Those who live out radically ordinary hospitality see their homes not as theirs at all but as God’s gift to use for the furtherance of his kingdom.”

One response to “No. 9 An Identity Grounded in Christ”
[…] different parts of our identity. I wrote about this back in February, you can read it here. Before Paul gets to this prayer, he set the foundation of reminding us of who we are in Christ. […]
