Set Up Summer It’s the beginning of June and I am so thrilled to have made it to summer. In our family, June is the beginning of summer even though we have school for a few weeks still. The season feels like summer and our schedule seems to be filled with summer activities. We’ve already had our first trip to the lake! We were able to spend a few days over Memorial Day Weekend at a cabin on the lake and it was just what we needed. We spent the days swimming, snacking, resting, reading, watching movies, and just being together. We all came home refreshed and rested, ready to dive back into the last few weeks of school before we start into our official summer break.
As we prepare for the end of school, I have been spending a lot of time processing, coaching myself. This is our first summer after going back to public school. This is also my first summer working, having picked up a part time job for the summer months and coaching. I have been praying that God would guide me to set everything up so that this summer is a success. And out of that the Set Up Summer coaching program was born!
The coaching program is a one hour one-on-one coaching session where we’ll work through what you want this summer to look like. We’ll honestly assess where you’re at and what your summer logistically is going to look like. Then we’ll decide what you want to feel at the end of the summer and how we’re going to get there. We’re going to be clarifying what you want from this summer and how we can get there.
You’ll have the workbook so whatever we don’t cover in our session you’ll be able to work on at your own pace. Then, in 4-6 weeks we’ll meet again for a mini check back in session. We’ll have a 20-30 minute session to see how you’re doing, and if/how you need to make adjustments.
“Nothing is going to change if nothing changes” is my current favorite quote. Jess Connolly says it so well, and I wholeheartedly agree. Let’s make some changes and see big impacts this summer. We are not women stuck or defeated or hopeless. We are kingdom women who can thrive and live in freedom!

You can find the coaching session on my website shop. It’s currently on sale and I’d love to partner with you as you set up your summer to be a summer of peace and fruit.
Could, Must, Want
One of the questions we’ll work through in the coaching session is the difference between could, must, or want. When we’re planning out our summers we can put things in each of these categories to help prioritize them. For example I plan to spend a lot of Sunday afternoons at the park listening to the local concerts. When I’m planning my summer I can decide if this is a could, must, or want to do on my summer bucket list? Is it more important than using Sunday afternoon to menu plan and order groceries? Do I need to move that to a different day so that I can use my Sunday afternoons to picnic?
Another example is running. I’m going to be training for a fall race over the summer. This is a must do so I need to work that into my summer plans. Sleeping in every day is not a must, it’s a want 🙂 So I can bump sleeping in down the priority list so that making time to run gets bumped up the list.
Hopefully this little word trick helps you as much as it helps me wrap my mind around all my dreams and hopes for the summer.
